Music of the Pan Flute ** Ransoli & Camacho
This group started as a duo in Mexico and then traveled throughout Central and South America playing and collecting wood for instruments. Their ancient hand-made flutes mixed with modern guitars creates exotic sounds that describe the mystery of the mountains and valleys of South America. Miguel Camacho plays pan flutes, bamboo flutes, and percussion while Rogelio Ransoli plays guitar and pan flutes. Some other native instruments they incorporate into their music are the turtle shell, goat feet, and rain stick.

Philippine Rondalla of Denver ** Josefina Tuason
The rondalla is the Philippine counterpart of the string chamber orchestra. It consists of instruments originally introduces to the Philippines by the early Spanish colonizers bandurria, octavina, laud, mandolin, guitar, and bass. Authentic, traditional Filipino music is performed. Rondalla music evokes a sense of nationalism and ethnic pride.

Planina: Songs of Eastern Europe ** Julie Lancaster

The singers wear an array of colorful, authentic folk costumes and provide explanations and interesting details about the songs.

World Drummers ** Hall, Egger-Belandria, Yagami, Sherman
With Bob Hall playing African drums, Dan Egger-Belandria playing Latino, Toni Yagami playing Japanese taiko, and Ira Sherman playing the drums of the Middle East, each drummer will solo on their drums the music and sounds of the culture each represents. They will discuss the unique rhythms and origins of the their music. After hearing each individual drum, they will play as one voice. This finale demonstrates that no matter how different the music, it can be blended into one sound. A world tour without leaving your school.
