Irish Step Dance Groups

**** Heritage Irish Stepdancers
Performing traditional and modern Irish group dances, along with solo dances, music, and stories of Ireland. Some including songs and dances the audience can learn. All in colorful, authentic dress!

**** McTeggart Irish Stepdancers of Colorado
This group is usually a mixture of younger and older dancers displaying soft and hard shoe steps. The group’s objective is to promote Irish culture through the medium of Irish dancing.

Inter-Tribal Dancers ** Gerald Montor
The Inter-Tribal Dancers, in full regalia, will perform the dances from the Navajo, the Pawnee, and the Mohowk. Drumming and singing accompany the dancers.

Jr. Wahinis ** Helen Alt
Ms. Alt, native Filipino of Hawaii, is director and choreographer of this amazing dance troupe. They presents a mesmerizing program of Polynesian dance and lore. This group delivers a professional polished show that promises to capture the imagination of the audience. Availabl all year but limited to night performances

Language of Dance ** Deborah Romero
Ms. Romero focuses on the dance, music, instruments, and history of Spain, Mexico, and the Southwest United States to illustrate how cultures borrow from each other and contribute to each other through the arts. In a colorful visual setting this program illustrates how cultures influence each other over the centuries.

Matachinas from Mexico ** Jose Flores
The Danza Matachina Tlaxcalteca Guadalupana are traditional dancers from Mexico. They perform the ancient dances of their ancestors. These indios have survived through the Conquistadors and the many revolutions in Mexico. Take a look back in history to the pre-Columbian dances and costuming of an ancient people. Their traditional native clothing and the dances are clarified and explained.

Moo Lan Chu’an ** Camelia Kong
Moo Lan Chu’an is a slow motion form of Chinese martial arts with its versions of Bare Hand, Fan, and Sword. The dances have graceful and rhythmic movements and are synchronized with music. Each dance is introduced by the Shanghai born dancer.

Old Time American Dancing ** Richard Myers & Vicky Bunsen
Students experience the historic community dances that have been the backbone of social life throughout the settlement of the United States. Caller Myers teaches and leads any size group in a variety of dances, including reels, circle and square dances, and explains the historical context as he calls. Live old-time string band music (fiddle, banjo, guitar, bass) is provided.

One World Folk Dancers ** Beverly Elinoff
With a mix of colorful native dress, ethnic dances from many places (Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Israel, Greece, and others) are performed. Watching this dance group is a very different experience and enjoyable for children and adults alike. All music and dance is authentic and presented as it would be done by the local village people in the town square. Audience participation can be included if desired.

Sentir Flamenco OLE! ** Paco & Laura Garrigues
Experience the rhythms of southern Spain’s flamenco. Feel the intensity in the singer’s voice, admire the graceful hands and arm movements of the dancer and the complexity of footwork combinations, and vibrate with the sounds of razgueados escaping from the guitar. Paco and Laura bring it all together in song, dance, and music.

Spanish Flamenco Dance & Music ** Sali Gutierrez & Steve Mullins
Sali and Steve take the audience on an exciting and educational journey from a Moorish village in Morocco to a spirited dance in Madrid. Besides being accomplished performers, they have strong backgrounds in education. They enjoy educating while entertaining - involving the audience and explaining the history and subtleties of their art. Together they capture the roots and influences of the art of flamenco with masterful execution and flair.

Spectacular Dances from Eastern Europe ** Postoley Dance Ensembles
Postoley’s exuberant dances and stunning clothing brings cultural heritage to life. The performances emphasize Ukraine, Poland, and other eastern European cultures. The dance, music, costumes, and folklore are woven together into a colorful mosaic that gives insight and appreciation to the heritage. The singing of traditional Ukraine folk songs is part of this performance. Audience size is up to 250 per assembly.

Silk Road Middle East Dancers** Natasha
Two to ten dancers will perform the traditional Middle East dances to include the sword, tribal Bedouin dances, and the cane dance of Egypt. Live music and colorful traditional native dress are part of the performance. The striking Bedouin black and silver dress with coins will dazzle the eyes while the movements, music, and rhythms capture your mind. Explore the Middle East in dance and music.

Tales & Rhythms of the Middle East ** Ziva Dunya
Ziva Dunya (bright world) is a troupe of musicians, storytellers, and dancers. They paint a vivid picture of the rhythms, traditions, and wisdom tales of the rich Middle Eastern culture through stories, poetry, music, and dance. It is both entertaining and educational. The famous “snake dance” is but one of the dances performed.

Ukrainian Women’s League ** The Colorado Folk Arts Council

Vanzantes de los Americas ** Stephanie Herrera
The “Dances of the Americas” focus is on Mexico and folklorico dancing from nine (9) different states of Mexico. The group will bring a minimum of 10 dancers up to 30 dancers in full native dress with music. Enjoy the sounds and sights as the group includes Salsa, Manga and Cumbas as dances. Hip Hop is available also!
